The COO Committee (the Committee) met today at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to discuss the following matters:
APS Academy Operational Update
The Committee received an operational update on the APS Academy from the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC).
APS Integrity Good Practice
The Committee discussed integrity good practice and approaches to measuring, monitoring and reporting on integrity performance through data and key metrics. The Committee also discussed the APSC’s proposed program of work to review and enhance the application of the APS Employment and Integrity Framework under the Public Service Act 1999.
Strengthening accountability for APS Reform
The Committee discussed options for strengthening accountability for APS Reform.
Stewardship as an APS Value
The Committee received an update from the APSC on its work to support agencies and APS employees to demonstrate the Stewardship Value when it commences on 11 December 2024.
Proposed amendments to the Public Service Regulations 2023
The Committee received an update from the APSC on proposed amendments to the Public Service Regulations 2023 that would support APS Reform initiatives, improved hiring practices and modernising workplace review decisions.
CALD Strategy Implementation Update
The Committee noted the CALD Strategy Implementation Update and the rollout of the CALD Capability Agency Uplift.
Non-Compete Clauses and other Worker Restraints
The Committee noted developments of the Competition Review’s investigation into non-compete clauses and other worker restraints and their use in the Australian Public Service.
APS Enterprise Resource Planning Approach
The Committee noted that key elements of the APS Enterprise Resource Planning Approach have now progressed and are complete.
